Leo

The lion (Panthera leo, antiquated/poetic/dialect Leu) is a species from the cat family. Unlike other cats, it lives in herds, is characterized by the mane of the male and is now native to Africa and the Indian state of Gujarat.

The lion is the second largest cat after the tiger and thus the largest land predator in Africa. Depending on the subspecies, male lions have a head body length of 170 to 250 centimetres (including the extinct forms), a shoulder height of up to 123 centimetres and a tail length of about one metre. Adult males have an average body weight of 190 kilograms. The range is from 150 to 225 kg, in exceptional cases up to 272 kg
