The special feature of the trailer is the multitude of tiny cut-outs. Every single one of the 24 animal figures was neatly contoured by hand. With a total of 16 incorporated diamonds, the Circle of Life is thus one of the most elaborately produced and refined pieces of Money Art Berlin.

Sri Lanka is for many a tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean, with golden sand beaches and deep green tea plantations. But the atmosphere here is in many places also marked by a clearly perceptible spirituality; after all, around three quarters of the population belong to the Buddhist faith.

Chain pendant

The coin Circle of Life was minted in 1957 on the occasion of the 2,500th anniversary of the Buddhist teachings and was only sold in a small number of copies. It is decorated with horses, lions, camels, birds and elephants. The animals inside the pendant seem to move in a circle on the different levels and thus symbolise the core idea of Buddhism: a life without beginning and end, the cycle of rebirth.
